Chilliwack is coming together to show the Vedder River some love. Whether you can stay for thirty minutes or three hours, every pair of hands helps protect fish habitat and keep our trails beautiful.

Event Details

  • Date: Saturday, Oct 19
  • Check‑in: 9:00 AM at Rotary Trail parking lot
  • Cost: Free (all cleanup supplies provided)

What to Bring

  1. Closed‑toe shoes and weather‑appropriate layers
  2. Reusable water bottle and a light snack
  3. A friend, neighbour, or your whole family

“When we care for the river, we care for each other.” — Local volunteer

We’ll have stations for sorting trash and recyclables. High‑school students can request volunteer hours at check‑in. Please consider carpooling to reduce parking congestion, and pack out anything you pack in.

How It Works

  • Quick safety briefing and route assignments at 9:10 AM
  • Small groups will fan out along the trail and shoreline
  • Return to the parking lot for tally and photos by 11:45 AM

If the river level is high, we’ll focus on upland areas and invasive plant removal instead of shoreline debris. Updates will be posted on the community board the morning of the event.
